POOCHES ON PARADE!

Don your best bonnets and top hats and join Canine Cabana as we celebrate Spring! We will host our third annual Pooches on Parade on Friday April 6th, 2012. This will be a great celebration of spring and all of its many bright new colors.
  • Dress your pup in their best so they can strut their stuff in a bubble filled parade route!
  • Along the parade route, stop to bob for biscuits!
  • Collect a basket of goodies!
  • Search for the elusive Golden Egg!

Moms and dads don’t you worry, Canine Cabana has got some goodies for you to take home too!

 Canine Cabana will also be collecting donations for A Kid’s Place during the month of April. A portion of the proceeds from Pooches on Parade will be donated as well. A Kid’s Place mission is to protect and care for neglected and abused children who have been removed from their homes. A Kid’s Place provides comfort and safety in a stable and nurturing environment at a critical time.

BARK O’ THE IRISH EVENT 2012

Yesterday we held our third annual Bark O’ the Irish event at Canine Cabana! All our friends enjoyed chasing the leprechauns, searching for shamrocks and creating mischief with the cold green doggie beer and warm Irish stew! All of our party guests had a great time being Irish for the day!

Third Annual Bark O’ The Irish!

Race the leprechaun to the end of the rainbow where green dog beer and warm Irish stew are awaitin’. Get your running shoes ready; the leprechauns are on their way. The Cabana Clan has put out the word for all of the friendly and frisky leprechauns to bring their mischief and fun!

  • All lucky dogs are invited to be Irish for the day, and whoever brings the most luck will be sure to capture the leprechaun and the mystical pot of gold!
  • Plenty o’ warm Irish stew.
  • Cold green doggie beer to keep the merriment going for hours!

Introducing our March dogs of the month, Louee and Mac Davis! Louee and Mac are a perfect pair for this jolly month filled with good luck and prosperity. These two Irish lads have already found the pot of gold, as they are each rich with great friends! Louee is a grand lad who loves hanging out in our sand box with his pals Zig M. and Ameena while Mac enjoys frolicking our spacious yards with his beautiful pal Greta H.!  These two easy going hounds are as Cabana favorite, as we look forward to seeing them every week! So let’s all give a big Cheers! to our two lucky pooches filled with pride, Mac Davis and Louee!

Tasty doggy treats and a best dressed contest for all their four-legged friends.  Prizes for the Top 3 costumes winners will be announced at 3:30pm.  You do not need to be present to win.  See details below.

Mario and Morgan love dog treats, so they asked Bonnie to do a Homemade Dog Treat Demo for all their guests.

In lieu of presents, Mario and Morgan are asking for a $5 donation to enter the party. This donation will benefit Lost Angels Animal
Resue.   Mario and Morgan are extremely excited about the birthday party and hope you can join them in the fun.

Valentine’s Day at the Cabana!

Love was in the air at the Cabana during our Valentine’s Day event! All of our romantic rovers were lining up to take their turns in the kissing booth. It was a very busy day as each pooch puckered up for a big smooch with our lucky staff members. The yards were filled with heartfelt hugs and friendly play. Our cutest couple contest winners are Chewbacca and Maya! These two lovebirds frolicked the day away! Then the day was complete with a yummy doggie bone kiss treat!

Southeastern Guide Dogs 26th Annual Walkathon

This incredible walkathon is at the beautiful waterfront Vinoy Park and will be filled with live music and fabulous food. There is a huge expanded selection of pet friendly vendors, as well as a silent auction. Spend the day greeting old friends and meeting new ones!

You can sell and purchase raffle tickets with a $10,000 cash prize! You can donate a silent auction item, purchase a corporate sponsorship, and attend their celebration dinner at the elegant Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Or all of the above! There will also be privileges to name a puppy!

  • Registration Fees: Walk registration for adults is $25. Registration for children 12 and under is $10 and $5 for non-program dogs. Fee includes t-shirt and dog bandana. Register online at guidedogs.org/walkathon or at the event.
  • Fundraisers: Those who raise $100 or more receive two complimentary adult registrations and two dog registrations. This includes two t-shirts and two dog bandanas. Fundraisers must be present the day of the Walkathon in order to receive your t-shirts and bandanas.
  • Dogs Welcome! The Walkathon is welcome to all dogs that are well behaved, friendly and on a short leash (for safety, please no retractable leashes). Dogs should be in good physical condition and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
  • Where: Vinoy Park at 701 Bayshore Drive NE St. Petersburg, FL 33701
  • Time:Registration opens at 8:30 AM. Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:45 AM and the 3k Walk Kick-Off starts at 10 AM. The Raffle drawing will take place at 11 AM and the event will wrap up at 1 PM.

Born: November 22nd, 2011

These two adorable puppies were born in a Brandon home to their wonderful mother named Princess. The owners would love to keep them, but one precious Italian Greyhound is all they can handle.

They have all necessary shots and have been examined since birth and are healthy puppies.
